O2 Spa Bar History - A successful launch for a successful future

On March 1, 1996, O2 Spa Bar held its opening launch party for the world's first retail oxygen bar of its kind in Toronto, Canada. Hundreds of media folk packed the 1600 square foot urban retreat. Satellite trucks outside relayed the message live, and every corner of the space had camera crews waiting patiently to interview the co-founders. Fashion and news channels performed live interviews with guests as they walked around with anticipation.

As the evening crept into twilight, the rest of the world began to awaken and media from around the world began to call. You see the news had "hit the wire". Japan, Spain, Sweden, India and of course practically every US state had the phone lines burning up. Within 4 months the founders of O2 Spa Bar had done more than 320 radio interviews, all this between daily camera crews sweeping through for television and magazine spots such as People magazine, The New York Times, Playboy, just to name a few.
